Our Projects

ACSL's Special Services project provides services and funds to community members in need when other community organizations are unable due to lack of funds or restrictions on fund allocation. The majority of funds raised each year are to support this important project.

An extension of ACE, the Classroom Closet supports public, charter and private schools in Alamance County by providing a well-stocked resource where teachers can shop for needed supplies at reduced or no cost.

The ARC of Alamance County is the largest national community-based organization advocating for and servicing people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. ACSL helps to prepare approximately 300 lasagnas each year to profit the ARC of Alamance County.

Christmas Cheer is a nonprofit organization dedicated to sharing the Spirit of Christmas  with underprivileged children and elderly of Alamance County. Each holiday season, ACSL provides assistance to three to four families with a holiday meal, household necessities and presents for under their tree.

Family_Abuse_Services_of_Alamance_County

Family Abuse Services provides services and support to domestic violence survivors and their children. They emphasize the prevention of violence through education and awareness programs offered countywide. Each year, ACSL delivers Family Abuse Services' curriculum via the "There is Someone To Talk To" puppet shows to all 3rd grade classrooms in Alamance County.

The Alamance County Health Department houses the Baby Closet, a program offering infant and toddler essentials to families in need in Alamance County. In 2019, ACSL added this as a project. ACSL will provide ongoing support for stocking the Baby Closet and also hold a community baby shower to fill the needs of the Health Department's clients and Baby Closet stock recipients.

Meals on Wheels provides in-home nutritional services in Alamance County which improve and enhance the quality of life; nourish the body, mind and spirit; and promote independent living for seniors and their families. ACSL delivers hundreds of meals annually for Meals on Wheels.

Meals on Wheels provides in-home nutritional services in Alamance County which improve and enhance quality of life; nourish the body, mind, and spirit; and promote independent living for seniors and their families. ACSL facilitates the delivery of those meals to those in need.

Allied Churches of Alamance County operates a weekday lunch and dinner meal program for shelter residents and community members, while also providing breakfast daily for shelter residents. ACSL helps to prepare meals at the shelter several times a month. We facilitate getting donations from Food Lion to the shelter.
